It's Hard To Believe These Painted Celebrity Dolls Aren't The Real Thing

Celebrity dolls are often released as toys or collector”s items, but rarely do they bear an on-point resemblance to the real person. In fact, many of these toys are hilariously inaccurate. Artist Noel Cruz decided to take matters into his own hands. Cruz takes these dolls and paints uncanny portraits of their human counterparts onto their factory-made faces. The results are so lifelike, it”s hard to believe they”re just action figures. Check out some of Cruz”s work below.

The original Katniss Everdeen doll looks like any run-of-the-mill Barbie. After Cruz worked his magic, it was a miniature Jennifer Lawrence.

This Jennifer Lopez doll could be anyone. Cruz”s makeover is undeniably recognizable.

 

The zombie boy (a.k.a. model Rick Genest) action figure doesn”t do much justice to his wild body modifications. Cruz”s paint job emphasizes the shading and detail.

These Devil Wears Prada collector”s items look nothing like Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Cruz gave the dolls their actor counterpart”s distinguished features.

Angelina Jolie”s strong cheek bones and full lips don”t stand out in the factory production of this doll. Cruz gave them they attention they deserved.

Liv Tyler as Arwen in Lord of the Rings“s action figure is particularly bland. Cruz”s contouring makes it much more realistic.

 

This Daniel Radcliffe Harry Potter doll appears to be wearing a bad toupee. Cruz fixed his hair and his boxy facial features.

Cher may be one of the most recognizable pop stars in history, but this doll certainly doesn”t show it. Cruz”s work gave Cher her famous features back.

This Johnny Depp Pirates of the Caribbean action figure looks more like a Ken doll than a rugged pirate. Cruz worked wonders on Johnny”s bone structure and epic facial hair.

I can”t even imagine how long Cruz works on these dolls.
